Refund policy

Returns & Refunds

Every piece is made by hand, one at a time. If something isn't right, tell me and I'll make it right.

30-day returns

You have 30 days from delivery to request a return. Pieces must come back in original condition and original packaging, with any mounting hardware and documentation included.

To start a return, email hello@aniani.art with your order number and a photo of the piece. I'll send a return authorization with the shipping address and packing instructions. Packages sent back without authorization can't be accepted.

Who pays return shipping

  • Damaged, defective, or wrong item — I cover shipping both directions.
  • Changed your mind — return shipping is yours. Original shipping is non-refundable.

Packing a return

Stained glass survives shipping because of how it's packed. Keep the original box and packing materials until you're certain you're keeping the piece.

Returns that arrive broken because of inadequate packing are refunded less the cost of repair, or declined if the piece can't be repaired. Full packing instructions come with your return authorization.

Damage in transit

Inspect the piece when it arrives. If it's broken, damaged, or not what you ordered, email me within 5 days of delivery with photos of the piece and of the packaging — box exterior, interior, and packing materials.

Keep everything until the claim is resolved. Carriers require the original packaging to process a damage claim and I can't file one without it.

Once documented, you choose: full refund or a remake. Some pieces can't be remade exactly. Glass runs vary and a discontinued sheet is discontinued — I'll tell you up front which option applies.

Not returnable

  • Commissions and custom work. Made to your specification, can't be resold. You'll approve progress photos before final assembly, so there shouldn't be surprises. Damage coverage still applies.
  • Gift cards.

Everything else in the shop is returnable.

Exchanges

Every piece is one of a kind, so there's nothing to exchange it for. Return the piece for a refund and order the one you want.

Variation is not a defect

Handmade objects, hand-cut glass, and your monitor. Color, texture, seed and bubble patterns, and solder lines vary between pieces. Photographs are shot in daylight; glass reads differently under warm indoor light and very differently with nothing behind it.

Variation between the listing photos and the piece in hand is expected and isn't a defect. It is, however, a perfectly good reason to return something within 30 days, no explanation required.

International orders

Orders shipping outside the United States are sent DAP (Delivered at Place). Import duties, taxes, and brokerage fees are collected at delivery and are not included in your order total. Those charges go to your government, not to me, and I can't refund them. Depending on where you are, you may be able to recover them from your customs authority after a return — check locally.

Shipments refused at delivery are refunded less outbound shipping and any carrier fees charged back to me.

Refunds

I'll inspect the return within 2 business days of arrival and let you know whether the refund is approved. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method within 10 business days. Your bank adds its own delay after that.

If 15 business days have passed since approval and nothing has landed, email me at hello@aniani.art.
